CSI – Forensics in a Team Building

TV series about serial killers, police investigations, detectives and criminals are constantly on our TV screens. And now you can experience them in the first person, together with your colleagues, thanks to one of our most beloved formats: C.S.I. Team Building!

Take a look at our video of this activity:

How is conducted a C.S.I. Team Building?

CSI Team BuildingC.S.I. means Crime Scene Investigation, i.e. the work of the forensics police department.

Imagine that in a calm and relaxed context, as it can be that of a meeting, a convention or a conference… all of a sudden we discover that has just been committed a crime! Police is far away, and to find the guilty and discover his motives you must be the ones to take the situation in hand.

Improvise yourselves detectives and start the investigation!

All the participants are called to investigate the crime using all the instruments of the forensics, that we will provide. Every team will work independently and will have to solve the case before the others. Participants will start the investigation and carry out all the activities that police detectives have to do. They will look for evidences and analyze them, interrogate the possible witnesses and evaluate the truthfulness of their words… until they will be able to formulate a hypothesis of alleged crime. So, they will do anything to find the guilty! It can be any of you… will you identify him?!

Team Building ideas linked to C.S.I?

CSI Crime Scene InvestigationThere are a lot of metaphors of team work that we can find in the characters of the team building format CSI:

  • Attention for the details. The smallest detail has importance and can play a determining role in the solution of the case. Try not to overlook the most important evidence and to analyze it in every part, with the most suitable instruments!
  • Necessity of collaboration and union of forces to recreate the plot. No one can expect to examine all the evidences, use all the materials, explore all the crime scenes, make all the researches by him/herself. The forensics are a team, and so must be the group of participants.
  • Learning to distinguish our suppositions from facts. Too often, in our interpersonal relationships, prejudices and false beliefs influence our being together. In the same way, our expectations on the possible criminal can address the researches in the wrong direction, so that an innocent will be condemned.
